New Lease of Life for Former Primary School

After lying derelict and unloved for nearly a decade, the former Temple Primary School on Spencer Street has been given a new lease of life.  The B-listed local landmark was sold by the Council last year to Little Me Nursery.

Over the past year, the building has been transformed into a private nursery school that will provide child-care from 8am until 6pm for children from 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery opened in early September and has "partnership" status with the City Council - offering the statutory entitlement to free three hour sessions per day nursery education for 3 to 5 year olds.

Local Scottish Labour Councillor Jon Findlay, who has been working with Little Me Nursery to ensure that the listed building was preserved and that local families would be able to access the nursery through partnership places, said "I am delighted that the Temple Primary School building has been so well preserved and that once again its walls will echo to the sound of children's laughter.  This facility adds greatly to the child-care and nursery education options on offer to local parents."
