A new community council serving the Anniesland, High Knightswood, Temple and Netherton areas held its first official meeting on 25 August. The previous community council folded over five years ago.
High Knightswood & Anniesland Community Council was established on the back of a year-long campaign by Scottish Labour Councillor Jon Findlay to form a new community council to represent the concerns and aspirations of local people. Members of the community council are all volunteers and come from across the area. They have highlighted continuing improvements to the local environment as an early priority.
The next public meeting of the council will be held at the Three Eyes Centre, 52 Knightscliffe Avenue G13 2TE on Tuesday 29 September. Local residents are welcome to attend. The council has its own web-site (search hka.scot) and can be contacted by e-mail on firstname.lastname@example.org or on twitter @hkascot.
