The new building is part of Glasgow Labour’s commitment to refurbish or rebuild every Primary School in the City.

Local Councillor Judith Fisher said: “This is an outstanding announcement today. I am delighted to have played my part in securing a new school for Blairdardie. Our community deserves the best and I’ve worked tirelessly to deliver it. The new school will lift the whole community. Alongside the full refurbishment of St Ninian's Primary, it shows the importance Glasgow City Council places on our children's education and aspirations."

Scottish Labour’s Scottish Parliament candidate for the area, Bill Butler, further noted: “I know Judith has fought tooth and nail for this school, and it’s a tremendous result. The Building has been in need of major work for some time now, and it will make a huge difference”

Work is estimated to begin in June 2016, and end in December 2017.
