3. Opportunity for all

Opportunity for All

Glasgow Labour has rebuilt or refurbished every secondary school, and now we’re doing the same with our primaries. In our communities alone, there currently ongoing works at Broomhill Primary, Blairdardie Primary and St. Brendan's Primary.

Scottish Labour will introduce a Fair Start Fund. We will ensure all children get a fair start, for each child from a disadvantaged background, we will give an extra £1,000 directly to schools. This means £11million more for schools across Glasgow.

Since the SNP were re-elected, half a billion pounds has been cut from education budgets. There are now 4,000 fewer teachers than in 2007.

And there are 150,000 fewer college places. Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn—and that means saving college places.
